4th CNLU Cyber Law National Moot Court Competition, 2026

About CNLU

Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) was established by the Bihar Act No. 24 of 2006 under the patronage of the Government of Bihar. The University is accredited by NAAC and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and registered with the Bar Council of India (BCI).

The University is ranked 7th among NLUs in the NIRF ranking 2025. The teaching pedagogy prioritizes classroom lectures and presentations, as well as in augmenting the all-round development of students. The students of this institution have proved their prowess by bringing several laurels to its pride in competitions ranging from Moot Courts to debates and sports events.

Eleven batches of CNLU have passed and have been placed in leading law firms, corporate houses, banks, and several have been chosen by foreign universities for pursuing master’s.

About the Moot

As digital technologies increasingly shape governance, commerce, and individual rights, cyber law has become one of the most significant and rapidly developing areas of legal practice.

This competition is conceived as a rigorous academic exercise aimed at enabling law students to critically engage with contemporary legal issues, while strengthening their research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills. The competition also seeks to encourage meaningful academic discourse and promote excellence in mooting.

The competition shall be conducted in offline mode. The Memorial Round will function as the qualifying stage, following which the selected teams will be invited to participate in the advanced rounds to be held at the Chanakya National Law University campus, in accordance with the schedule set out below.

Schedule of the Competition

  • Inauguration and Researcher’s Test: 3 April 2026.
  • Preliminary Rounds: 4 April 2026.
  • Semi-Finals, Final Round, and Valedictory Ceremony: 5 April 2026.

Registration Details

  • Last date for registration: 28 February 2026 (11:59 PM).
  • Registration fee: INR 4,500 per team.
  • A maximum of three teams per institution.

Total₹ 1,80,000

The winner will also be given an internship opportunity with J. Sagar Associates.

The winner will get One year subscription to the SCC Online Web Edition.

All participating teams will be provided with a certificate of participation or a certificate of merit in accordance with the performance of the team. All the participants will also be getting one month of access to the SCC Online Web Edition to all participants.
