Legal AID Round Table – Mapping Legal AID Committee Practices by BITS Law School, Mumbai
About BITS Law School
BITS Law School, Mumbai, is a new-age law school under the aegis of BITS Pilani, an Institution of Eminence.
Established in 2023, BITS Law has been set up with a vision of becoming an inspirational benchmark for new-age, multidisciplinary legal education and research in India, with creativity and empathy
About the Event
The initiative seeks to capture the lived experiences of each LAC, documenting what kinds of projects are being undertaken, the resources they require, the challenges encountered, and the impact generated.
This is done in two stages: First, documentation of LAC undertakings from the past 24 months by filling out a structured digital form; and Second, Presentation of this data in a roundtable conference format.
The findings from the round table will then be presented as publishable proceedings.
As a Legal Aid Committee, participation in this Round Table offers an opportunity to situate your work within a larger ecosystem of student-led legal aid.
Rather than evaluating LACs against a hierarchical benchmark, the Round Table is explicitly designed as a horizontal learning space, where each LAC participates as an equal stakeholder.
