About the Organiser
The VIT School of Law, established in 2014 under VIT University, is committed to imparting quality legal education and nurturing ethically strong, socially responsible legal professionals.
The VITSOL Legal Aid Committee, inaugurated in 2015, actively collaborates with legal services authorities and NGOs to promote access to justice through legal awareness camps, mentoring sessions, prison legal aid assistance, and community outreach initiatives.
About the Event
The Great Indian Electorate – The Election Literacy Competition is an academic and creative initiative aimed at fostering awareness about democratic participation and electoral literacy among school and undergraduate students.
The competition includes multiple categories designed to engage participants through creative expression, policy analysis, and knowledge testing.
Event Categories
- Ballot Box Office – Short Film Making
- Theme: Consequences of decisions taken by voters (including non-voters) in a democracy
- Duration: 5–8 minutes
- Format: MP4, minimum 720p resolution
- Music: No copyrighted content permitted
- Eligibility: School (Grades 9–12) & Undergraduate students
- Team Size: 2–5 members
- Submission Deadline: 22 February 2026
- Ink & Irony – Cartoon/Comic Strip
- Theme: Ballot Box Speaks – Secret Life of a Ballot Box
- Format: Hand-drawn; maximum 3 strips; A4 landscape; scanned and submitted as PDF
- Eligibility: Grades 9–12 only
- Team Size: 1–2 members
- Submission Deadline: 22 February 2026
- Lokaniti – Policy Drafting Competition
- Policy Theme:
Students have to design a policy involving gamification to encourage Gen Z and Gen Alpha to show up at the polling booth. - Structure:
- Executive Summary (Max 300 words)
- Full Policy Proposal (Max 2000 words)
- Format: MS Word (.docx)
- Eligibility: Undergraduate students only
- Team Size: 1–2 members

- The Quest – Offline Quiz
- Mode: Offline (Exclusively at VIT Chennai Campus – Delta Block)
- Eligibility: School & Undergraduate students
- Team Size: Maximum 2 members

- The screening round may be conducted if registrations exceed the prescribed limits.

- Participation is free of cost.
- Submissions must be original.
- AI usage is permissible only as per category-specific rules.
- Copyright violations (especially in film and reel categories) will lead to disqualification.
- Decisions of the organizing committee are final and binding.
