About the Competition
The Lex Scripta, 2026, A Judgment writing competition is conceived to foster excellence in judicial writing by immersing students in the role of a judge. Participants are required to examine a given factual framework, apply the law with coherence and precision, and produce a comprehensive, well-reasoned judgment.
The competition integrates analytical advocacy with the discipline of adjudication, challenging students to identify and frame issues, assess competing submissions, evaluate relevant facts and authorities, and arrive at a principled determination reflecting both legal acumen and judicial restraint.
Fundamentally, the competition seeks to cultivate sound judicial reasoning, reinforce adherence to the rule of law, and promote clarity and accessibility in legal writing.
