About the College
ILS Law College, Pune, through its ILS Debating Society, is pleased to announce the 14th Justice V. M. Tarkunde National Parliamentary Debate.
The tournament is held every year to pay tribute to Justice V. M. Tarkunde, an outstanding jurist and a civil rights activist of the first rank.
The ILS Law College is also known to have a rich culture of debating, and the college has strived to instil in its students critical arguments, the reasoning process, and the values of the Constitution, among others.
Details about the Event
The Justice V. M. Tarkunde National Parliamentary Debate is a prestigious national-level debating tournament that celebrates persuasive speaking, analytical depth, and engagement with contemporary social, political, and legal issues.
The tournament follows the Asian Parliamentary debating format (3v3) and has, over the years, built a legacy of rigorous competition, experienced adjudication, collaborative learning, and enriching interactions among debaters from across the country.
The 14th edition promises to continue this tradition with high-quality debates and memorable competitive experiences.
Eligibility
- The tournament is semi-open.
- Open to students from law schools and other institutions across India.
- Cross-institution teams are permitted to participate.

Registration Procedure
- Interested participants must register through the official registration link mentioned at the end of this post.
- After registration, the Organising Committee will contact the Point of Contact (institutional or individual) to confirm slot availability and share payment details.
- Slots will be confirmed only after payment confirmation.
- Participants are advised not to make any payment before receiving confirmation from the Organising Committee.
Fee Details
- Participant Registration (without accommodation): ₹3,000 per person (inclusive of GST)
- Participant Registration (with accommodation – optional, 2 nights): ₹3,600 per person (inclusive of GST)
