About Solventia

Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws (e-ISSN: 3108-2548) [Solventia] was established with an objective to pursue and promote innovative scholarship and research in the Insolvency and Bankruptcy laws.

It seeks to contribute to the debates, discussions or discourses by engaging in dynamic and advanced research, including pragmatic and theoretical analysis in the realm of insolvency and bankruptcy laws at both domestic and international levels.

It is a bi-annual, double-blind, peer-reviewed and edited journal. The Journal focuses on Insolvency and Bankruptcy laws and covers both domestic and international legal and policy-related topics or issues.

Solventia invites contributions from experienced practitioners, academicians and law students on contemporary topics related to Insolvency and Bankruptcy laws, as well as on jurisdiction-specific themes.

Submission Guidelines

  • Solventia seeks submissions under the following categories:
    • Long Articles – 6,000 to 8,000 words (exclusive of footnotes).
    • Short Articles – 3,000 to 6,000 words (exclusive of footnotes).
    • Case Notes/Book Reviews – 1,500 to 2,000 words (exclusive of footnotes).
  • The manuscript may be co-authored by a maximum of three (3) authors.
  • The manuscript must be topical and related to the subject and scope of Solventia.
  • The manuscript must contain an abstract of not more than 200 words.
  • The authors must follow the OSCOLA: The Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (4th edition) for citations and footnotes. If the reviewers find that the submitted manuscript does not adhere to this citation format, they will reject the manuscript in the initial review.
  • The manuscript must not include a table of contents or numbered paragraphs.
  • In the Google Form, the author must provide a brief biographical description, including name, affiliation, qualifications and contact details. The manuscript must not contain any mention of or reference to the author’s name, affiliation or credentials.
  • Solventia accepts manuscripts on a rolling basis.The editorial team will consider any manuscript submitted after the aforesaid deadline for the subsequent issue.
  • The manuscript must be contained in a Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) document.

Citation Policy

  • Authors must strictly ensure that their citations conform to the standards laid down in OSCOLA: The Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (4th edition). If the submitted manuscript does not adhere to this citation format, the reviewers will reject the manuscript in the initial review.
  • Submissions must use only footnotes as a form of citation.
  • The guidelines discourage the use of speaking/substantive footnotes. However, you may allow speaking footnotes solely for the purpose of providing definitions or clarifications.

Review Timeline

Manuscripts will undergo a three-stage blind review conducted by the Board of Editors of Solventia over the course of eight (8) weeks after the submission deadline for Volume III, Issue 2 has elapsed. You can access the detailed information about the editorial process at the end of the post.

Submission Procedure

  • Manuscripts for Volume III, Issue 2 of Solventia may be submitted via the Google Form given at the end of the post.
  • The author(s) must make a declaration at the time of submission that the manuscript is an original and unpublished work, and that they are not considering it for publication elsewhere.
  • The permissible limit of plagiarism is 10%, and for the usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in drafting the manuscript is 10%. The committee will reject any manuscript with plagiarism or AI usage exceeding the respective thresholds.
