About the Organisers
The Neotia University (TNU), an initiative of the Ambuja Neotia Group, is a UGC-recognized university established under the West Bengal State Government University Act, 2014. The University offers multidisciplinary undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes and emphasizes experiential learning, internships, research, innovation and skill development.
The Neotia University Moot Court Competition, 2026 is organised by the School of Legal Studies, The Neotia University. The School seeks to promote academic excellence and practical legal education through activities that develop advocacy, legal research, drafting, analytical reasoning, and professional ethics.
Details of the Event
The Neotia University Moot Court Competition, 2026 is a national-level academic and advocacy competition designed to simulate real courtroom proceedings. It provides law students an opportunity to engage with complex legal issues and develop skills in legal research, written advocacy, oral argumentation, analytical reasoning, drafting, and professional conduct.
- Objectives include promoting advocacy, legal research, and drafting abilities.
- To inculcate professional ethics and courtroom etiquette.
- To encourage analytical reasoning and application of law to facts.
- To develop courtroom-ready advocacy and persuasive drafting skills.
- To simulate judicial scrutiny before experienced legal professionals.
- Competition structure: Preliminary Round, Quarter-Final Round, Semi-Final Round and Final Round.
Eligibility & Team Composition
The competition is open to students enrolled in:
- LL.B. (3-year programme).
- 5-year integrated LL.B. programmes, including B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B. or other allied programmes.
- LL.M. programmes.
Team composition:
- A team ordinarily consists of three members: two Speakers and one Researcher.
- A team may participate with two members, with both members acting as Speakers.
