About the Organization
Brief Case, in association with Sentinel Law Practitioners and Verdict Voices, is organising the 1st National Article Writing Competition 2026, providing law students with an opportunity to showcase their legal research, analytical skills, and scholarly writing on a contemporary constitutional issue.
The competition focuses on the integrity of public examinations in India and invites participants to critically examine the constitutional, legal, and institutional dimensions of examination malpractices, including paper leaks, institutional accountability, legislative inadequacies, and their impact on students’ fundamental rights.
About the Competition
The 1st National Article Writing Competition 2026 aims to promote legal research, critical thinking, evidence-based analysis, and scholarly discourse among law students and emerging legal scholars. The competition encourages participants to present original and solution-oriented perspectives on contemporary constitutional and governance issues.
Theme
“Integrity of Public Examinations in India: Constitutional Challenges, Institutional Accountability, and Legal Reforms.”
Participants are encouraged to examine issues relating to examination paper leaks, institutional liability, administrative accountability, legislative gaps, constitutional rights, and possible legal reforms.
Eligibility
- Open to all UG and PG students enrolled in a recognised law university, college, or institute.
- Co-authorship is permitted, with a maximum of 2 authors.
- Cross-institutional teams are allowed.
- Only one submission per author is permitted.
- There is no restriction on the number of entries from a particular college or university.
Submission Guidelines
- The article must be original and unpublished and should not be under consideration elsewhere.
- The article must be analytical and relevant to the theme or prescribed sub-themes.
- Language: English
- Word Limit: 2,000–3,000 words, excluding footnotes.
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Alignment: Justified
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 1 inch
- Footnotes: Times New Roman, 10 pt, single spacing.
- Citation Style: Bluebook – A Uniform System of Citation (21st Edition).
- Similarity exceeding 10%, excluding references and properly quoted material, will result in disqualification.
AI Policy
The use of AI is limited to 10%. Exceeding this limit will result in immediate disqualification.
Anonymity Requirements
The manuscript must not contain the author’s name, institutional affiliation, acknowledgements, or other identifying information, including in document properties or metadata. Only the Author Code/Registration ID allotted by the Organising Committee should appear on the manuscript.
The article must be submitted in .doc or .docx format and named according to the prescribed format:

Submissions must be made through the official submission portal; submissions through email or other modes will not be accepted.
