About the Competition

Al Azhar Law College is organizing a National Essay Writing Competition under the aegis of the Department of Law and IQAC.

The competition, titled “Year in Review: Critical Analysis of any of the Legal Developments in 2025,” invites students to engage in scholarly evaluation of recent legal reforms and judicial pronouncements in the year 2025.

Eligibility

Students pursuing LL.B. or LL.M. from any recognised Indian law school/college/university.

Submission Guidelines

Each entry must be accompanied by a cover letter from the Head of the Institution, specifying the student’s name, course, semester details, name of the institution, University, and e-mail ID.
The essay should be in the English language
The Word Limit should be 2000 words, inclusive of footnotes.
All submissions must be formatted in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5-line spacing and 1-inch margins on all sides.
Footnotes must be rendered in Times New Roman, font size 10, with single-line spacing.
All submissions must strictly conform to the ILI citation standards.
Subject line and name of document shall be the name of the author
The essay should be the original work of the author & must not have been published elsewhere.
Participants are required to submit a plagiarism report alongside their essay. Entries with over 15% plagiarism will be disqualified during the preliminary round of evaluation.
No co-authorship is allowed

Last Date for Submission: 30^th May 2026
Results declaration: 15^thJune 2026

Prizes

First Prize: Rs. 1,500 + certificate
Second Prize: Rs. 1,000 + certificate
In addition to the cash prize, a certificate of participation will be awarded to all the participants, subject to the plagiarism report.
