About the Organisation
Meerut College, Meerut, established in 1892, is one of the most prestigious and historic institutions in North India. It is affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Singh University.
The Department of Law is among the oldest legal education centers in the region, offering LL.B. and LL.M. programs. The department actively promotes advocacy skills through moot court exercises, legal aid programs, and academic engagement.
About the Competition
The 1st National Moot Court Competition, 2026, is being organized by the Moot Court Committee, Department of Law, Meerut College.
Objectives of the Competition:
- To enhance advocacy and legal research skills
- To provide practical exposure to courtroom procedures
- To encourage legal reasoning and professional competence
- To promote interaction among law students across India

Eligibility
Participants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Open to law colleges/universities recognized by the Bar Council of India
- Students must be pursuing:
- 3-year LL.B. course, or
- 5-year integrated law course
Team Composition & Role
- Team Composition:
- Maximum 2 teams per institution
- Each team must consist of:
Minimum: 2 members
Maximum: 3 members
- Team Roles:
- 2 Speakers
- 1 Researcher (optional)
