About the Dept
The Department of Law, MAIMS was established in 2017 with the launch of the five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. programme, followed by the B.B.A. LL.B. programme in 2020 and the LL.M. programme in 2022, with specialisations in ADR, IPR, and Corporate Law. The Department is supported by facilities such as a Moot Court Hall, a Legal Services Clinic, an ADR Cell, and the MAIMS Pro Bono Club, run in association with the Ministry of Law & Justice.
About the Competition
The MAIMS 7th National Moot Court Competition, 2026 aims to provide a platform for law students across India to showcase their advocacy, legal research, and analytical skills in a professional and intellectually stimulating environment.
The Inaugural Ceremony will be held on 30th October, 2026, followed by the Preliminary Rounds and Researcher’s Test on 31st October, 2026, in online mode. Qualifying teams will compete in the Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and Final Rounds in offline mode at the MAIMS campus, Rohini, Delhi, on 20th and 21st November, 2026.
Eligibility
All students pursuing a full-time three-year LL.B. programme or five-year (integrated) LL.B. (Hons.) programme from any institution/university recognised by the Bar Council of India, or any other equivalent competent authority, are eligible to participate.
Team Composition
- Each team shall consist of three members. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances.
- Of the three members, two shall be designated as ‘Speakers’ and the third as ‘Researcher’.
How to Register?
- Teams must confirm participation by filling out the Registration Form on or before 11:59 PM IST, 15th September, 2026.
- Each team will be allotted a unique Team Code upon registration, which must be used for all further communication with the organising committee.
- Any change in team composition/details must be intimated to the organising committee at the earliest via email at mootcourtsociety@maims.ac.in, accompanied by a freshly filled registration form.
Fee
- Registration Fees: Rs. 5,000/- per team
- Early Bird Registration Fee: Rs. 4,500/- per team (for registrations on or before 20th August, 2026)
- Teams qualifying for the Quarter-Final Round may opt for accommodation at an additional charge of Rs. 3,500/- (optional)
