About the Opportunity
The Litigation Fellowship Programme at NLSIU places 30 Fellows with mentor advocates and litigation chambers for a two-year term, combining structured mentorship, curated curriculum, and regular evaluations. The Programme Manager role supports the programme implementation, fellow and mentor engagement, training activities, and administrative functions on a full-time contractual basis.
Benefits / Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned Fellows and mentors.
- Track Fellow placements, attendance, and progress against milestones.
- Coordinate regular Fellow check-ins and convenings (quarterly, biannual).
- Administer reporting and evaluation processes.
- Support the delivery of training and capacity-building workshops and events.
- Maintain programme calendar, documentation, and ensure timely communication.
- Assist budgeting, logistics, procurement, and vendor coordination.
- Coordinate outreach and engagement with programme partners and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and reporting obligations.
- Collaborate with a co-Programme Manager and report to the Director of Clinics.
Eligibility
- Essential Qualifications:
- Law degree (LL.B./B.A. LL.B.).
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Kannada.
- 3–6 years relevant experience in litigation practice, programme/fellowship management, clinical legal education, or legal non-profit coordination.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other programme tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with discretion.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with legal systems and fellowship programmes.
- Proficiency in spoken English and Hindi.
- Experience in leadership, communication, and problem-solving.
- Experience (Essential & Desirable):
- 4+ years of experience in project/programme management, preferably in legal education, access to justice, or the non-profit sector (criteria may be relaxed for educational qualifications).
- Prior litigation or chambers experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Bengaluru litigation and chambers ecosystem.
- Experience managing university clinical programmes, fellowships, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Experience in funder reporting, grant management, monitoring, evaluation, and data management.
Duration
The initial appointment is for one year, renewable based on performance and programme needs, covering the Fellowship Programme period from August 2026 to July 2028.

Full-time and on-campus at NLSIU, Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru.
