About the Organiser
Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla is a premier legal education institution in India focusing on academic excellence, interdisciplinary learning, research, innovation, and engagement with contemporary legal and policy challenges.
The Legal Innovation & Incubation Cell (LIIC) at HPNLU is a student-driven initiative aimed at fostering innovation, interdisciplinary exploration, and problem-oriented thinking within the legal ecosystem, operating at the intersection of law, technology, entrepreneurship, and policy.
About the Competition
Lexcelerate’26 is a Shark Tank-style legal startup idea pitching competition designed to empower students and innovators to transform real-world legal ecosystem challenges into technology-driven ventures.
The central theme is “Access to Justice,” encouraging innovative solutions that make justice more accessible, affordable, understandable, and inclusive.
Participants will pitch their ideas before a panel of legal professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts. Ideas can be at the conceptual, prototype, or operational stage.
Competition Structure
The competition follows a hybrid format with both offline and online participation, culminating on the event date.
Eligibility
- Open to everyone.
- Participants may compete individually or in teams of up to three members.
- Each participant/team may submit only one startup idea.
- The idea must address existing challenges in law, justice delivery, legal education, compliance, policy, or allied sectors.

- Registration should be done via the link given at the end of the post.
- Registration is valid upon successful payment of the prescribed fee.
- Registration Fee: ₹500 per head for general participants; ₹350 per head for HPNLU students.
