About the Host Institution
Founded in 1909, the Department of Law, University of Calcutta, is one of the oldest and most prestigious legal institutions in India. With a legacy spanning over a century, it has produced distinguished legal minds who have significantly contributed to the judiciary, academia, and policymaking.
About the Competition
The competition has been envisioned as a sincere effort to build upon the strong foundation laid by its inaugural edition and to establish itself as a premier event on the national mooting circuit, proudly rooted in Kolkata.
The theme of the present edition revolves around the liability of corporations on climate change, a critical issue in our rapidly industrialising nation. The amalgamation of courtroom advocacy with climate activism offers participants a novel and enriching mooting experience.
