About the Centre
The Legal Aid Centre (LAC), established at the Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, is guided by the foundational objective of ensuring equal access to justice.
In furtherance of its commitment to gender justice, the Legal Aid Centre annually organises a week-long celebration on the occasion of Women’s Day to recognise, promote, and advance the social, legal, and economic upliftment of women, while fostering awareness and advocacy for women’s rights in society.
About the Competition
The Legal Aid Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, is pleased to announce the organisation of a Speech Competition titled “UDHBODHAN”, scheduled to be held on 11th February 2026, as part of the National Women’s Day Week-long Celebrations, 2026.
The competition shall be conducted on the theme “Boundaries: Redefining Women’s Role in a Changing World (सीमाओं से परे: बदलती दुनिया में महिलाओं की भूमिका का पुनर्परिभाषण)”.
The competition aims to provide a dynamic forum for participants to demonstrate spontaneous oratory skills while engaging in meaningful discourse on gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the evolving role of women in contemporary society, thereby fostering awareness and progressive thought on social and legal issues of significance.

Eligibility
- Students enrolled in any undergraduate or postgraduate course from a recognised University
- Research Scholars and Academicians can participate in the competition.
Competition Rules
- The competition shall be open to students enrolled in any recognised University, College, or Institution within India.
- Each participant shall be permitted a maximum duration of five (5) minutes to present their views.
- The use of any language that is offensive, derogatory, disrespectful, or otherwise unparliamentary is strictly prohibited.
- The decision of the judges shall be final, conclusive, and binding upon all participants.
- Any participant who exceeds the prescribed time limit shall incur negative marking.
