Details of the Event
The Judgment Writing Competition 2025-26 aims to inculcate the art of drafting judgments among law students. This competition provides participants with an opportunity to step into the shoes of a judge and hone their analytical and writing skills.
Objectives
- To develop a judicious mind.
- To apply legal concepts with clarity of thought.
- To promote the spirit of the rule of law and justice.
- To interpret the law justifiably to meet the ends of justice.
Eligibility
The competition is open to students pursuing either an integrated 5-year LL.B. programme or a 3-year LL.B. programme in India.

Registration/Submission Procedure
Registration
- Team Composition: Each team shall consist of 2 members. No team comprising more than 2 members shall be permitted to participate.
- Note: Only one team per institution is allowed.
- Registration Process: Teams must register by filling out the Google form provided mentioned at the end of this post on or before December 27, 2025, by 11:59 PM (IST).
- Registration Fee: A registration fee of ₹500/- per team must be paid through Bank details. The payment details are as follows:

- Submissions must simulate judgments aligned with Indian judicial standards.

- Submissions must not disclose the team’s identity.
- No logos, names, or affiliations of institutions.

- Tie-Breaker: In case of a tie, the team with the least plagiarism will be given preference.
- Penalties:
- Late submissions, incorrect file names, or exceeding the word limit will attract negative marking.
- Plagiarism exceeding 10% will lead to disqualification.

The competition will be judged by a panel of two esteemed legal experts.
