The K.L. Arora Chair in Criminal Law, at the National Law University Delhi, is a pivotal initiative dedicated to advancing the field of Criminal Law through teaching, research, and advocacy. Established in 2011 by esteemed Justice D.P. Wadhwa, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, it stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the late Shri Kundan Lal Arora, Senior Advocate.

About the Short-Term Internship Programme

It looks forward to welcoming a diverse group of in-person interns, for those who can join on campus to take full advantage of the collaborative and immersive environment at NLU Delhi.

Eligibility

  • Students must have completed two years of the five-year integrated LL.B. Programme/ one year of a three-year LL.B. Programme. Preference will be given to the students who have studied and completed the criminal law coursework in their LL.B. Programme.
  • Applicants should have a strong academic record, excellent research and writing skills, and a
  • keen interest in criminal law.
  • Previous research experience, while not mandatory, will be considered an advantage.
  • Preference will be accorded to interns residing in the Delhi NCR region, in proximity to the location of NLU Delhi

Duration

Short-term interns will spend at least one month, extendable up to two months (December 2025-January 2026), under the Chair, assisting in ongoing research projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

Contribution in ongoing research projects, assisting in data compilation, empirical and doctrinal analysis, and report writing under the guidance of experienced researchers and undertaking necessary administrative tasks.

  • Writing Sample: Submit a writing sample (published/unpublished). Ideally submitted to University as part of coursework on the subject of interest within the scope of Criminal Law. (1500–3000 words)
