About Centre for Studies in International Trade and Investment Laws (CITIL)

CITIL is an academic and research body at DNLU working to advance scholarship and policy engagement in International Trade and Investment Law. The Centre collaborates with national and international institutions, conducts research, publishes policy insights, and organises specialised training programmes.

About the Competition

The CITIL Article Writing Competition, 2025, invites submissions on:

“Dispute Resolution in International Investment Law: Innovations and Reforms.”

The competition encourages scholarly writing on investor–state dispute settlement (ISDS) reforms, UNCITRAL Working Group III developments, and innovations in transparency, fairness, and dispute resolution mechanisms.

Indicative Sub-Themes:

• ISDS Reform: Comparative Legal and Institutional Innovations

• UNCITRAL Working Group III: Trends, Challenges, State Practices

• India’s Model BIT: Substantive Provisions & Investor Protections

• Regional Approaches to Investment Dispute Resolution

• Balancing Regulatory Autonomy & Investor Rights

• Appellate Mechanisms & Advisory Centres in ISDS Reform

• Technology & Investment Dispute Resolution

(Participants may choose any topic under the main theme.)

Eligibility

• UG Law Students (3-year / 5-year LL.B.)

• PG Law Students (LL.M. and equivalent)

Submission Guidelines

• Word Limit: 2,000–3,500 words (excluding footnotes)

• Citation Style: Harvard Bluebook (21st Ed.) or Manu Citation

• Co-Authorship: Up to 2 authors

• Plagiarism: Max 15% similarity permitted

• AI Tools: Strictly prohibited

• Must follow Manupatra submission guidelines (available in Drive link)
