About the University
The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University is the first of its kind Affiliated Law University in the Country, established by the State of Tamil Nadu in 1997 in the City of Chennai. The University offers Academic Programs under its School of Excellence in Law.
The school was established on the lines of National Law Universities to offer all Academic programs. It has nine Post Graduate Departments with different subject specialisations that take care of Legal Research by offering Doctoral and Post Graduate programs.
About the Competition
The “Third National Tamil Criminal Trial Advocacy Competition 2025–2026” aims to promote mooting and trial advocacy in the regional language of Tamil. The competition focuses on the practical application of Criminal Law and the NDPS Act, encouraging participants to understand and argue complex legal issues arising under these domains.
It provides a dynamic platform for law students to enhance their skills in examination, cross-examination, and oral arguments, while learning courtroom ethics and procedure. The event brings together talented young advocates from across the country to demonstrate their legal acumen before panels of judges and legal professionals, fostering confidence, clarity, and advocacy proficiency in Tamil.
How to Register?
- Teams can provisionally register by sending an email to soeltamiltrialadvocacy@gmail.com, and each institution can send 2 TEAMS.
- For final registration for the competition, please fill out the G-Form attached at the end of the post.
Fee
- All teams wishing to participate in the competition shall pay a basic registration fee of ₹2,000 (Rupees Two Thousand only) on or before 4th January, 2026.
- The top four teams (4) that qualify for the Semi-Finals Round shall pay an additional fee of ₹1,500 (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred only) on or before 28th January, 2026.
