About The Competition

The 1st National PIL Drafting Competition, 2025, organised by the Centre for Labour Studies, DBRANLU, is part of the National Conclave on “Functioning of Constitution: Celebrating 75 Years of Indian Constitutional Journey.” This competition seeks to inculcate in students the art of drafting effective Public Interest Litigations—an instrument that has shaped India’s legal activism and advanced the cause of social and economic justice.

Participants will be required to draft a PIL within a 6-hour window, mirroring real-time advocacy challenges. The competition encourages analytical thinking, issue identification, legal research, and precise drafting centred on contemporary labour and constitutional concerns. All submissions will undergo plagiarism and AI detection checks to ensure academic integrity.
