Call for Papers: South Asian FinTech Law Forum 2025
Regulating Innovation: The Legal Landscape of FinTech in South Asia
The Centre for Development of Intellectual Property and Research (CDIPR) and Naovina Development of Intellectual Property and Research Foundation are convening the South Asian FinTech Law Forum 2025 under the 2nd South Asian Global IP Summit.
This flagship international dialogue, organized in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI), seeks to explore the evolving intersection of financial innovation, digital transformation, and legal regulation across South Asia.

Forum Objectives & Focus
The forum aims to foster transnational dialogue on FinTech governance, cross-border compliance, and the future of digital financial law in emerging economies.
- Key Focus: Fintech governance, cross-border compliance, responsible innovation, data-driven regulation, and inclusive financial ecosystems.
- Contribution: Selected papers will contribute to an International Edited Volume capturing comparative insights and regulatory innovations in South Asia.
Thematic Areas for Submission
Participants are invited to submit research papers, policy analyses, or case studies under the following themes:
1. Legal and Policy Dimensions of FinTech
- Fintech laws, financial regulation, and balancing innovation with consumer protection.
- Regulatory sandboxes and central bank roles in fostering FinTech ecosystems.
2. Blockchain, Crypto Assets and Digital Currencies
- Legal recognition and taxation of virtual digital assets.
- Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs): opportunities and regulatory challenges.
- AML/KYC norms in blockchain finance and cross-border data flows.
3. Reg-Tech, Sup-Tech and Data Governance
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation in financial supervision (Reg-Tech/Sup-Tech).
- Data protection, cybersecurity, and legal challenges of algorithmic decision-making.
4. Inclusive Finance and Consumer Rights
- FinTech for financial inclusion, microfinance, digital lending, and neo-banking.
- Legal frameworks for consumer grievance redressal and ethical finance.
5. International and Comparative Perspectives
- Lessons for South Asia from FinTech law reforms in ASEAN, EU, and North America.
- The role of international institutions (IFC, World Bank, FATF) in shaping FinTech governance.
Submission Guidelines

- Abstract: Must not exceed 300 words (including 5 keywords).
- Formatting: Times New Roman, 1.5 Spacing. Footnotes 10pt.
- Citation Style: Bluebook 21st Edition.
- Originality: Submissions must be entirely original. Plagiarism must not exceed 10%. AI-generated content is not permitted.
- Co-Authorship: Up to two authors allowed.
Recognition & Publication
Selected contributors will receive:
- Publication in the International Edited Volume titled, “FinTech Futures in South Asia: Law, Policy and the Digital Transformation” (with ISBN), distributed across 13 nations.
- International Certificate of Presentation.
- Best Paper Award and Emerging Researcher Recognition.
