About the Organisation

K.R. Mangalam University (KRMU), Gurugram, Haryana, is a multidisciplinary institution established in 2013 under the Haryana Private Universities Act and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The University is accredited with NAAC Grade ‘A’, reflecting its consistent commitment to academic excellence, quality education, and institutional development.

About the Event

The School of Legal Studies, K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram proudly presents the 1st Justice K. Subba Rao Memorial Inter-University Moot Court Competition, 2026. The competition is instituted in honour and memory of Justice K. Subba Rao, former Chief Justice of India, who is widely remembered for his unwavering commitment to constitutional values and social justice.

The competition seeks to foster advocacy skills, legal research aptitude, and courtroom professionalism among law students across the country. The Competition is being organised in association with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and JSA Advocates & Solicitors and in collaboration with Mr. F.A. Shah, Advocate, Madhya Pradesh High Court. Additionally, SCC Online and SCC Online Media serves as the Media Partner & Knowledge Partner for the Competition.

Eligibility

The competition is open to bonafide students enrolled in a full-time three-year LL.B. programme or a full-time five-year integrated law programme from any University/College/Institution recognized by the Bar Council of India. All members of a team must be registered students of the same institution at the time of registration and throughout the competition.

A team shall comprise three members:

  • Two speakers,
  • One researcher
    Each participating institution may nominate a maximum of two teams only. If more than two teams of the same institution apply, the first two registered teams will be considered for participation.

Location

Preliminary Rounds I & II and the Quarter-Final Round shall be conducted online. The Semi-Final and Final Rounds shall be conducted offline at K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram, Haryana, India.

  • 22nd March, 2026 (Online) – Researcher’s Test, SCC Online Session & Draw of Lots (Online)
  • 23rd March, 2026 (Online) – Preliminary Round I (Online)
  • 24th March, 2026 (Online) – Preliminary Round II and Quarter-Final (Online)
  • 11th April, 2026 (Offline) – Semi-Final and Final Rounds (Offline at Campus)

Fee

  • Registration Fee: Rs. 3,500 per team
  • Teams qualifying for the Semi-final and Final round of the competition are required to pay sum of Rs. 1,500 if opting accommodation.
