8th Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition 2026

About KLE Law College, Bengaluru

K.L.E Law College, Bengaluru, was established in 1975 under the umbrella of Karnataka Lingayat Education Society and has been conceived as a training ground for those seeking to enter the legal profession. The Bar Council of India recognizes it and is a constituent college of KLE Technological University, Hubballi. KLE Law College Bengaluru is ranked as one of the top law colleges across the country by the leading national media houses.

About Surana & Surana and KLE Law College National Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition

The Surana & Surana and KLE Law College Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition has been conceived to create opportunities for learning the development and jurisprudence on emerging trends in Constitutional Law, besides developing cutting-edge skills in research, writing and advocacy.

The past seven editions of the moot have witnessed diverse and fierce participation from the various prestigious institutions of the country.

Eligibility

Students pursuing LL.B (5 Year/ 3 Year programme) in Colleges/Universities/Institutes in the current academic year are eligible to participate in this competition. One team per university/institution shall be eligible to participate.

Team Composition

  • Each team should consist of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 members. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances.
  • There shall be 2 speakers and 1 researcher designated for each team consisting of 3 members. A 2-member team will have both members designated as speakers. The researcher shall be allowed to argue with prior permission of the court and the National Administrator in case of illness of the designated speakers.

Registration Procedure

Teams will have to register online at the link attached at the end of the post. Participants will receive approval as acceptance of their request for participation by 11th February, 2026 or earlier. The detailed procedure for registration is included in the Rulebook.

Payment Details

The registration fees for the Competition are:

  • Without Accommodation: Rs. 4000/-
  • With Accommodation: Rs. 8000/-
  • The same is to be paid through the link provided here. The payment receipt should be sent by e-mail to suranamoot@klelawcollege.org with the name of the competition and your institution as the subject of the mail by 12 th February 2026 at the latest.

Prizes and Awards

  • Winner – Trophy + Rs. 20,000/-
  • Runner up – Trophy + Rs.10,000/-
  • Best Memorial – Trophy
  • Best Student Advocate – Trophy
  • All participants will be issued participation certificates.

  • Start of Online Registration: 10th January 2026
  • Last date for Online Registration: 10th February 2026
  • Payment of Registration fees: 12th February 2026
  • Last Date for Submission of Memorials (both Petitioner and Respondent), Soft Copy by email with temporary team code: 18th February 2026
  • Submission of Travel form: 16th February 2026
  • Submission of hard copy of Memorials (5 Copies of each Side) during Orientation: 27th  February 2026
  • Orientation, Draw of Lots, Exchange of Memorial for Prelims: 27th  February 2026
  • Preliminary Rounds: 28th February 2026
  • Octa Final Round: 28th February 2026
  • Quarter Final Round: 28th February 2026 (contingent on Octa Final Round being held)
  • Semifinal/ Finals and Valedictory: 1st March 2026
