About the University College of Law

The University College of Law (UCL), Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, established in 1962, is one of Rajasthan’s oldest and most reputed law institutions. About the Moot Court

The 1st National Moot Court Competition – FIAT JUSTITIA 2026, hosted by UCL, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Anand Paliwal, Dean UCL, Dr. Priyadarshi Nagda B.A.LL.B In charge, Dr. Hansa D. Joshi Faculty Convenor, Moot Court Committee, aims to provide a dynamic platform for law students to develop advocacy, research, and courtroom skills.
This competition promotes analytical thinking, ethical legal practice, and exposure to real-world legal problem-solving. Students from across the nation are invited to participate and compete before esteemed judges and academicians.

Theme

The moot proposition revolves around the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 with issues relating to:

  • AI model training and surveillance
  • Data privacy violations
  • Consent, purpose limitation & data fiduciary obligations
  • Constitutional rights under Article 19(1)(g) & Article 21
  • Proportionality of penalties & regulatory compliance

Eligibility

Participation is open to bona fide law students enrolled in 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. programs.
Each institution may send only one team.

Teams may comprise

3 members: 2 Speakers + 1 Researcher OR

2 members: Only 2 Speakers (no Researcher)

Registration Fee

Without Accommodation: ₹3,000

With Accommodation: ₹5,000

(Stay will be provided from 20th Feb to 23rd Feb 2026.)
