About the Opportunity
Each of the prior editions of Christ Academy’s moot court competitions has drawn participation from top law schools, offering students a platform to engage with pressing legal issues and develop essential advocacy skills. The competition continues to uphold its reputation as a premier national moot, promoting intellectual rigor and legal excellence.
This year’s Christ Academy St. Chavara Moot Court Competition 2026 examines whether the Governor of a State is constitutionally bound to act on the aid and advice of the Council of Ministers while exercising powers of assent under Article CC of the Constitution of Silverfeild. It explores the constitutional validity of indefinite delays or withholding of assent to duly passed Bills, the limits of gubernatorial discretion, and the extent of judicial review over such executive actions. The case raises critical issues concerning separation of powers, federal balance, and the preservation of democratic accountability within the constitutional framework.
